Food Banks Serving Unprecedented Numbers

FOOD BANKS ARE EXPERIENCING UNPRECEDENTED NUMBERS…

Here’s a scenario to consider. The current minimum wage for the state of Washington as of January, 2025 is $16.66/hr. (Yes, some cities have a higher rate, but this is the current state requirement)

Consider this… imagine a family of three making $16.66 x 40 hours x 52 weeks. Total: $34,652.80 a year before payroll deductions. That’s pretty hard for them to live on.

But in this scenario this family STILL fails to be eligible for SNAP – Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program which says that benefits are available to families who earn at or 130% below the poverty line (33,576.00 for a family of three). This is one example…

SNAP benefits notwithstanding, we still have many families struggling to provide effectively for their families. Your financial contributions, your food donations, and your heartfelt volunteering, all work together to help the food bank stretch our resources for community neighbors.

Working together to ensure that no family is hungry.
