Volunteers are Our Backbone
What would we do without our volunteers? Absolutely nothing! The Mukilteo Food Bank is the only food bank in Snohomish County that operates with 100% volunteer support.
The food bank began as a pantry years ago and has evolved into a full sized operation serving between 300 families twice a month. To fulfill the process of giving families cart loads of food each distribution cycle, much must be done to prepare and gear up for client days.
We have volunteers that pick up, transport, document, and store food stuffs. Others place orders and manage inventory. Still others, provide administrative support by working with clients, overseeing the website and social media platform, and serving as a board of directors. Lastly, we have volunteers who interact directly with our families on distribution days.
Our nearly 100 volunteers are the backbone of this organization and we are grateful for their continued and inspiring support.
If you are interested in volunteering, we had once a month volunteer orientation meetings where you can learn what would be a good fit for your lifestyle and personal schedule. Visit our volunteer page to learn more.
